About the project

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) is the world’s largest independent renewable energy company with our Canadian operations having over 20 years of experience developing across Canada, including Nova Scotia.

RES is developing the Eigg Mountain Wind Project near Connors Mountain Road in Antigonish County. The project was selected through the Green Choice Program’s 2024 procurement to bring more clean energy to the province and help Nova Scotia meeting its green energy targets for 2030, resulting in a Power Purchase Agreement with Nova Scotia Power in June 2025

Guided by over a year of environmental studies, Mi’kmaq knowledge, regulatory input, and community feedback, RES recently submitted our environmental assessment. On April 9, 2026, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change approved the project. You can read our full submission, the Minister's decision, and project conditions here.

We look forward to continuing to work with the community to advance a project that provides clean energy, supports local economic opportunities, and delivers long term benefits to the region.
